About Us

Farrowdale House School, established 1983, is a small, independent, co-educational Preparatory school situated close to Shaw town centre. Easily reached from all the surrounding areas of Rochdale, Oldham and Ashton-U-Lyne. The school caters for children 2 years to 11 years.

We offer a full academic curriculum within the framework of traditional values and the expectation of high personal achievement. It is within the Preparatory School that a child's character is developed and it is the aim of Farrowdale House to foster a responsible, caring attitude.

The children are taught to exercise self-discipline and a belief in traditional values and courtesies. The School is staffed by caring, well-qualified and enthusiastic teachers. Our small classes of maximum 20 children are essential to provide for the individual needs of
each child and to achieve the academic standards expected.

Chess and board games, guitar, table tennis, soccer table, homework quiet room, football & netball training and French Club.

Farrowdale House School is delighted with the findings of the latest Ofsted Inspection in November 2008 and the previous inspection in April 2005.
